Parental Coaching/Counseling
“What it is like to be a parent: It is one of the hardest things you'll ever do but in exchange it teaches you the meaning of unconditional love"
-Nicholas Sparks

Becoming a parent is a blessing. However, like many things in life it comes with its own set of challenges. The pressure to make the right decision and be a "good parent" can be overwhelming. Especially, when life throws you curve balls. Children react in many ways to life transitions and sometimes their behaviors can become out of control. Parents often find that they do not know what to do or how to help their child in these times. Parents want to provide the best guidance possible for their child but they feel nothing they are doing is working. This is where a little extra support and guidance from parental counseling sessions can be of assistance in making a difference in your families life. We believe that all parents can benefit from parental coaching at some point in their lives; whether it be to get support for confronting specific issues, managing discipline, or learning how to handle out of control behaviors.
Some questions for parents:
Do you have trouble getting your child to listen to you?
Does your child exhibit out of control behaviors (hitting, biting, kicking)?
Does your teenager exhibit out of control behaviors (drug and alcohol use, running away, violence/fighting, cutting school, failing school, sexually active)?
Do you often give in after you punished your child/teenager? (such as grounding for a weekend and then giving in before the weekend is over)
Do you feel frustrated and do not know what to do to get your child on track?
Do you want to talk to your child/teenager about drugs or alcohol but do not know how?
Do you want to talk to your teenager about sex but do not know how?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then parental counseling might be right for you.
